Why do we write books? Some of write about ourselves, to record our life, or to write it the way weight have wanted to have been. Others of us write things that come into our head, channeled, so to speak.
It may be fiction or not, but either way, if we don’t write it down. We most certainly will forget the idea and no matter how hard we try, it doesn’t come back.We sit at the computer and say we are ready to begin our book, but the inspiration doesn’t always come when we command it.
So what can we do, there may only be certain times we get to indulge our muse?
Here is how I began to write:
~~Write down any ideas you get. Write letters to someone, which you do not intend to send. Of course we don’t write letters anymore, but when I first began writing we did. I was living in Belize, Central America, and I had never touched a computer. However, now we have e-mail, notes, text messages, or whatever is your preferred app. We don’t even have to type, we can dictate our ideas into the phone or the computer.
~~Organize. Even though you may not know what you are going to write, organize your notes into folders, if there are several potential ideas for projects floating around, just above your head. You may not use them now, but in the future, who knows?
~~Don’t go to sleep with an idea. You will not remember it when you wake up. If you have to get up out of bed, so be it.
Ideas are precious and they are coming from beyond you, so treasure them.
